Debra M Hemmings
Fellowship A.R.B.T.A Ballet, Jazz, Character
Jazz Dance Examiner for the A.R.B.T.A
After completing her training in the Arts Educational in London, she then danced and choreographed with several dance companies in the UK and Europe, working theatre, TV and cabaret. Debra settled in Barcelona and worked in theatre, dance and choreographed in cabaret. She formed her own dance company who toured extensively in the Middle East and the Mediterranean, working Theatres, TV and cabaret.
She has choreographed and produced many shows for promotion and TV. Her own company performed for the Peace Conference between Israel and Egypt in Cairo. She produced fashion shows in Egypt, Italy, Spain and Greece, one of these being for the then Egyptian Prime minister's wife's charity hair fashion show. Also cabaret, top night clubs and luxury hotels such as Cairo Mena House, Cairo Meridian, Dubai Carlton, Tunis Meridian and many more, they also performed TV in Spain, Italy and open air theatre in Greece, Athens.
Coming back to England and taking up teaching and dancing on TV (whilst her company continued to tour) gradually led her to the foundation of the Collective Dance and Drama school in '89, with the success of the school, her knowledge and experience there became a natural progression into the development of the Collective College from which many of it's ex students have entered the world of professional performing arts, dancing, acting and singing with ballet, contemporary and jazz companies, cabaret groups on cruises and nightclubs, television and teaching.
Her dynamic teaching style, ability and enthusiasm to guide students through their training have and will continue to prove successful.
Caroline Blitz
A.A.R.B.T.A Ballet and Charter
Caroline finished her training at Hammond Performing Arts School in Chester; she then toured England and Europe as a professional dancer working in Theatre, Cabaret and TV.
After working professionally as a dancer Caroline trained to teach Ballet, Contemporary and as a Fitness instructor.
Caroline joined Collective as a teacher in its early years and with her knowledge and experience of the professional world of performance and her excellent teaching skills and caring nature, she has and continues to be a great asset to the teaching staff.
Hayley Winton
BA (Hons) Dance and Performing Arts
A.A.R.B.T.A Jazz
Hayley trained at the Bird College of Performing Arts, Sidcup, Kent, where she gained a 2:1 BA (Hons) degree in Dance and Theatre performance.
After graduating Hayley worked Professionally in both the UK and across Europe, in touring productions and variety shows.
Hayley is trained in Classical Ballet (RAD, ISTD, ARBTA), Jazz (ARBTA), Modern, Tap, National, Classical Greek (ISTD) and Drama (LAMDA, Guildhall). Hayley is one of the newest members of the staff at Collective and along with her professional experience, brings enthusiasm and a lively attitude.
Samantha Tewfik
BA (Hons) Dance
C.D.E, I.S.T.D Ballet Tap Modern National
Samantha completed her degree at the University of Surrey and Completed her FDI and CDE at the Penny Meekings Teacher Training Centre. She has experience in teaching in vocational and academic schools and also teaches GCSE and A Level studies.
Samantha brings with her the experience of the practical dance and academic skills required for the modern performing arts and teacher training college, and is an asset to Collective with her fresh approach to both.
Sue Wright
A.A.R.B.T.A Ballet Character
AQA, GCSE and A Level Dance Moderator
Sue is a founding member of the Collective Dance College and has experience as a professional dancer and choreographer in theatre, TV, cabaret and experience in choreography for promotional fashion shows. She has toured extensively in the UK, Middle East and Europe working as a dancer and also in contemporary dance companies.
She has teaching experience in vocational and academic schools and colleges. Her unique contemporary style and enthusiasm to promote dance has given her an admired reputation within Hertfordshire and beyond. She has extended her knowledge within the last few years to include teaching GCSE and AS and A level dance with a lot of success.
Sue has worked along side Debra to produce a comprehensive and exciting Dance College, with her ever exciting ideas and great wealth of knowledge, the College and it's students continue to benefit with her ever lasting thirst for new experiences within the dance world.
Malcolm Rivers
Principal Baritone with E N O and D'Oyly Carte and R O H Covent Garden and The Royal Shakespeare Company
Artistic Director of the Mastersinger Opera Company
Malcolm has a massive amount of experience in the performing world of singing. His range is from Musical Theatre to Opera and he still travels extensively performing in the UK and Europe.
He has extensive recording experience in productions of Gilbert and Sullivan, Veri: Otello and many more.
He is an excellent teacher and with such diversity he is able to guide students to reach their potential, and also advice on audition and performance techniques.
Barbara Murray
L.G.S.M.A LAMDAM
Barbara is an extremely dedicated teacher. With vast experience of Theatre and Television performances in the UK, she is a talented actress in her own right, and has worked with some of the most famous directors in this country, for example she played Georgiana in 'A Chorus of Disapproval' at the National and Lyric West End, 'Vi' in the Emmy Award winning drama for the BBC 'Bullion Boys' she has also played in episodes of 'Bread' for the BBC and more recently 'Janet' in 'Life as we know it'.
She is still producing and performing. She understands the required strengths and demands needed for the theatrical stage. She has the experience of teaching drama and acting skills in many different vocational colleges and with her flamboyant style encourages the students to develop confidence and techniques.
Kerry Newell
Performing Arts Diploma AISTD Modern and Tap
After training in Arts Educatonal, Tring and Laine Theatre Arts, Kerry has been working in television as a dancer and a presenter. She also has performed in many commercials, music videos and West End musicals.
With her experience, enthusiasm and exciting approach to teaching the commercial styles required for today's professional dancer, she is a great asset to Collectives teaching staff. The students benefit from her hands on knowledge and continuing contact with all the different genres of the profession.
